This qualification will provide you with practical skills and knowledge to carry out technical support functions in mechanical engineering research, design, manufacture operations, and maintenance. You will learn skills in computer aided design (CAD) and drafting, computing, materials testing, mechanical and steelwork design. You will also learn about safety in the workplace, quality controls, maths, and science. You will practice the skills you have learned in a engineering environment.

The minimum requirements for achievement of the Certificate III in Engineering - Technical are:

  • completion of the three (3) core units of competency listed below, and
  • completion of seven (7) elective units of competency from the list below to bring the total of units selected to ten (10).
